A Day in the Rockies

The Sawatch Mountains of the Colorado Rockies around Leadville are some of the most beautiful in the world. With blue skies, flowers and breathtaking views they are a place that you will never forget. You will probably start planning your next adventure as soon as you get back to town.
Day Overview:
We will pick you up at your hotel or house in or near Leadville. Our start time will depend on the route we select and weather forecasts. While we drive to the trailhead, we’ll discuss the route we are going to take, safety protocols, time expectations and answer all of your questions.
Routes:
We have permits that give us access to the most beautiful trails in the Leadville area. We will choose a route based on the groups interests, acclimatization to altitude and fitness level. In general our day will include about 4 hours on the trail, and we will return back to town at about 2:00 pm.
Transportation:
We will load up in our comfortable 15 passenger van for a short trip to the trail head. The specific travel time will depend on our planned route, but typically it is about 20 minutes.
Safety
Client and crew safety is the most important priority for any Top Out Adventures trip. We will take every precaution possible to mitigate risks and be prepared in the case of an emergency situation.
Mitigation Precautions:
A trained first responder will be on the crew
All clients will be given a route briefing and a printed map with contact numbers
Crew members will be carrying GPS spot trackers with SOS buttons
Crew members will be carrying 2-way radios
Home base crew will be tracking progress of the crew GPS trackers and will be able to contact Search and Rescue if needed

Cancellation Policy:
We go outdoors for the experience of nature which comes with some unpredictability. With the exception of dangerous conditions, our trips run rain or shine. Make sure to carefully read the packing lists in the information you receive before your adventure. Having the right gear can make all the difference.
For day adventures, you will receive a 100% refund for cancellation of any payments up to 7 days before the trip. Within 7 days you can choose between a 50% refund of payments received or a 100% credit towards another Top Out Adventures activity.
