Origin Story

Top Out Adventures was born out of our love for adventure and the community of people who share that passion.

There is a special place where we can find the balance between human and nature. For us this is not typically found in the local city park. Instead it requires challenging oneself. However the natural world doesn't care about our personal challenges. It is only when we recognize our insignificance to the natural world that it may allow us to have our achievement in its playground.

As adventurers ourselves we have learned many lessons in the mountains and canyons where we have sought our achievements. The mission of Top Out Adventures to is safely guide others to meet their own challenges in the great outdoors.

How A Top Out Adventure Works

Our job is to take care of all of the details so that you can concentrate on the adventure.  We take care of the ground transportation*, hotels and meals, which is all included in the price. Our trips are small groups ranging from 7 - 11 clients and this allows us to ensure everyone's safety and provide a quality trip.

When we are out on the trails, we are there to support too. Our guides know the routes, the dangers and how to navigate it all. All of our guides have extensive medical training, and if there is an emergency we have skills and contingency plans to handle it.

We want you to have the confidence to try something new knowing that we've got your back.

You can get the details on any specific trip on the Trips page.

*Please note that our trips do not include airfare

Safety is our first priority.

Client and crew safety is the most important priority for any Top Out Adventures trip.  We will take every precaution possible to mitigate risks and be prepared in the case of an emergency situation.

We guarantee the following on each trip:

  • A trained first responder will be on the crew

  • All clients will be given a route briefing the day before and a printed map with contact numbers

  • Crew members will be carrying GPS spot trackers with SOS buttons

  • Crew members will be carrying 2-way radios

  • Home base crew will be tracking progress of the crew GPS trackers and will be able to contact Search and Rescue if needed

The reality of COVID-19 is something that we have to address for the sake of our own health and the health of the families we go home to after the trip.. Below are the precautions that will be taken during the trip:

  • Anyone who has not had COVID-19 in the past 90 days or been through a full vaccination regimen will need a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event and commit to minimizing exposure until we are all together

    • Rapid antigen tests are acceptable.

    • PCR tests are also acceptable and can be obtained at CVS or Walgreens

    • You should get your PCR test at least 4 days prior to your trip to ensure results before the trip.

    • While quarantining after the test is not required, we ask that you be prudent until the trip knowing that you will be meeting new people soon and don’t want to spread the virus to other areas.

  • Frequent hand washing and social distancing wherever possible.

  • We will adhere to any local or national park guidelines as needed.
